How We Review
1. Define the reader and decision
Every guide starts with a UK reader, a jewellery type, a budget context and a concrete decision. Products are not compared unless they address the same need.
2. Check the piece
We record the stated metal, fineness, hallmark information where relevant, gemstone description, dimensions, setting or fastening, manufacturing details and care requirements. Marketing language is not treated as material evidence.
3. Check the retailer
We review delivery, returns, exclusions for personalised or pierced items, resizing, warranty, repairs, customer contact routes and the clarity of product information. Policies are dated because they can change.
4. Compare like with like
Each option is judged using the same published criteria. A lower-priced plated piece and a solid-gold piece may suit different readers; the recommendation must explain the consequence rather than pretending the products are identical.
5. Keep commercial relationships separate
Affiliate availability does not decide whether a brand is included or which product wins. Not every retailer mentioned pays us. Affiliate links are disclosed before the reader encounters them and are marked as sponsored.
6. Update before relying on price
We avoid presenting a volatile price as permanent. Readers are asked to check the current price, stock, delivery, returns and final specifications at the retailer before paying.
